REMBRANDT FRERICHS Education Rembrandt (1977) graduated Cum Laude from the Royal Conservatoire where he obtained his masters'degree. In 2003 Rembrandt studied in New York with Kenny Barron and Mike leDonne. (the "fund for excelling young musicians” has given Rembrandt this scholarship) In 2001 Dutch national television (AVRO) followed Rembrandt intensively for three weeks, resulting in a documentary about the conservatory's most outstanding students Rembrandt now works as Hoofdvak-Jazz Piano teacher at the conservatory of Tilburg and as a guest teacher at the conservatory of Rotterdam. Prizes and Awards Rembrandt was finalist in the prestigious Deloitte Jazz Award 2007. the Jazz orchestra of the Concertgebouw played two compositions written by him. His debut-album "Self portait" was nominated for the Edison award 2007 by the public and the readers of Jazzism magazine Rembrandt won the Bluenote-records festival jazz-award 2nd price in 2006 With his "Rembrandt Jazz trio" he was nominated for the VSB-jazz award 2000 International Experiences In 2002 Rembrandt represented the Netherlands at the international IASJ- jazzmeeting in Helsinki, Finland. Concerts Rembrandt works with actor-painter-dancer-singer Niels Brandaan Rembrandt writes the music to Niels' plays and perfomances. He composed music for the theatre play:"HAM", performed by Drang theater.
